DM1 for iPhone app good for
please add ableton link
otherwise its good and cheap
many sounds and tweakable parameters
To fully appreciate what this app can do, you have to invest a little time. Some of the features are amazing! 32 beats per measure when others offer only 16 alone is worth buying this.
For such a lightweight app, this can actually do quite a lot. Set your BPM, choose from so many sets, mix & match, keep tweaking and adjusting, add effects, and then export to your favorite software or keep as is. Intuitive. Useful. Fun. Trade make that $%!+
I love how easily I can switch between patterns and sounds. There are some quirks about switching between two bar and one bar patterns. It seems to switch between their relative positions as a whole instead of related to a single bar. The app on its own is very useful.
The dream came true for me when Ableton Link was implemented, or so I thought. The reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because Link does not function as expected. If you turn Link on mid-play and have an app join they do not sync unless you start DM1 over. There is always a slight latency in DM1 (always), and it always inevitably drifts. This is not how Link is supposed to work. If it can be fixed, this will for certain be a flawless app.
Following a startup pb, I uninstalled app and reinstalled it (ver 1.1.2) then it was ok ( Iphone4).
Avec un iphone4, si vs rencontrez des pb au lancement de lappli, désinstallez et reinstallez lappli
One of the best beatbox app for iphone. I use it very often with my keyboard. Easy to use, sounds are ok.
But please, just add a TAP tempo!
Some bad moments
No automation???
Why not?!?
This makes it not a full on experience and CRIPPLES an otherwise excellent product!
Also, can we have a "Save" button, instead of just having any change you make saved? Ive lost a lot of great beats because it will open on the last project, and I will create something new, which will automatically overwrite the previous one, unless I tell it to "new project".
Every music app has a save feature, this just assumes whatever changes you make as saved. Terrible method....
**Edit/Update**
I hate to say this, cause this app isnt really all that bad, but every time I use it, I like it less.
I was quite excited to see an update finally arrive, but bummed that it didnt really change much, or add any real features. Audiobus is nice, as is In App Audio. 12 new drums is like getting the interior of your car detailed, when you actually need an oil change.
Can we have automation? Can we have multiple effects?
Can we have an easier, more user friendly method of saving??
No sound for 1.79€. Great. Is it due to iOS 8 ? An update should come in handy...
When you open the app for the first time, then solo the HiHat track, you can hear the timing isnt accurate. It changes and wavers over time. I dont know what theyre using for a timing system, but this sounds really bad and it makes it irritating to make music with when my ears are constantly picking up the timing wobbles.
Ideally this would be sample accurate, but if thats too CPU intensive, then at least something better than the current system.
There also doesnt appear to be a way to record any changes made while using the XY pad in effects.
You also cant edit the level/pitch, etc over time like you can in the iPad version.
I hope they change/fix these things. Be happy I change my review.
Crashes on startup, anyone else experience this? Iphone 4. Emailed fingerlab and was told to wait for an update.. awesome.. wouldnt have bought it if iI had known
Just updated to 1.1.2. and no longer works. Hope the next update fixes it.
This app needs midi, please add midi just like the iPad version!
