DM1 for iPhone App Reviews

The recent update does not work at all. Hopefully they fix it soon. I enjoy this app but now I cant open it. Been using it for 2 years

Needs import, fills, and a TB-303. Had to go back to iMaschine and Easybeats because of this. Also needs the option to turn off quantization.

The app is good and fun on its own, but there seems to be difficulty connecting to other apps via inter-app audio. Every time DM1 opens through the connection app, such as DAW or GarageBand, it crashes and the connection is not established. Thoughts on how to fix this? Thanks for your work. - Devin

Problem when you try to launch dm1 using garage band as an inter audio app

Id love to see the addition of sub divisions within the midi. Like triplets and 16th notes could result in some really cool beats! Keep the sounds coming as well!

Newest version is TERRIBLE! I was so surprised how good the quality was until this latest version! Very disappointed. Dont buy it.

Dropbox is not working within the DM1 app

Have been using live for three years. Have at least 60 songs... Can you please make an alphabetize option to keep songs ordered and easier to find? Thanks.

This app is awesome and an amazing value for the money. Well worth the purchase. A+

I dont usually write reviews but Dm1 is one of the best, If not the best drum machines on the App Store. And given that they just updated it with 22 new drum sets its perfect for everything from glitch, to jazz, rock or even industrial music. You can rec beats live, or sequence them (think fruity loops) adjust each individual drums tone and volume. Throw a multi pattern sequencer, export, audio copy, output sound filters and randomized in and youre looking at one of the most comprehensive drum apps out there. And it doesnt eat CPU or memory and the $$ is cheap. Well done finger labs. Most of the music apps are crap but this ones solid gold. Seriously.

I am thoroughly in love with this drum machine. The kits are awesome. The randomizer is super fun. Tons if tweakability. If youre into this kind of thing, just buy it! Lots of unused screen real estate on the iPhone version. Seems the iPhone 4 (and earlier) versions was just stretched to fit. Not a big deal... doesnt detract from my enjoyment... but it would be cool to make use of that empty space by exposing some of the other awesome features.

Kinda surprised there was no Ableton Link in this update... Multitrack export is the feature that tips this app from 4 to 5 stars for me.

There is an issue thats not allowing me to export my songs to soundcloud

I was impressed with the multiple sounds and how easy it was to make a drum beat on my phone, and then copy it to GarageBand and make a full drum track, all using my iPhone (still am impressed). But now, out of nowhere, the app became a huge problem for me. Now, I cant export the audio and copy to GarageBand, or anything, and Im using an iPhone 6S, so the RAM and processor shouldnt be the problem. I still love the app, but I really hope an update can fix this nightmarish bug.

I just wish I it was possible to get stereo files. (oops, just discovered the pan control +one star)

Cant record tho the option is there. The so called time line dont work- how to I make more than just a repetitive beat? I guess thats all you get...

The app itself is really cool, I have no issue with it except I would like to see reverb and to be able to put effects onto single channels. One can do this on the iPad version. I had to delete the app through because it absolutely destroyed my battery. In 8 hours it had managed to zap 38% of my battery with background activity. Why on earth does a simple drum machine need to perform background activity? Its totally illogical. The simplest solution is to just quit the app. But, I didnt use it enough to justify killing what is already an abhorrently weak battery for a smart phone. Fix it and I may be back.

I use this app every day. The interface just makes sense to me, more than other step sequencers on the App Store. However, Id really like the ability to import my own samples like in the iPad version. Ive fully explored the possibility space made available by the included samples and I need something new.

Ive been using this app for a long time and its great but lately when I try to play patterns they dont repeat and the sounds glitch. I had to delete the app and download it again to get it to work before and it worked fine for a few days but then started doing the same thing again. I dont know if it makes a difference but Im using the app on an iPhone6s plus.
